Software packages I have written

Over the years I have created a few software packages, that I hope others can make use of. Here is the list and information about what I have released.

  • FaxMail. This package lets your computer receive faxes for you, and send the pages as JPEG images to your email account. It also does some rudimentary scaling of the images, to suit your needs.
  • A Perl module to access the configuration files for Box Backup. It still needs a lot of work, but can be used for a limited subset of the configuration files. I will get to it soon, I hope.
  • bbClientStatus is a perl script that, externally to Box Backup, checks when the last backup was made, for individual clients or all clients for a server. It can email results, and can also be used as an easily parseable file, for other programs to use as input. bbClientStatus uses the BoxBackup::Config package.
  • A couple of plugins for Nagios, that let you monitor the two daemons that make up Box Backup.
  • Another Nagios plugin. This one lets you check that a file or directory has been updated recently. It is useful for checking for stale logs, etc.
